AI Infrastructure Structural Daily | Oct 16: Financing Stress vs TSMC HPC & Cash Flow

· AI infrastructure

STRESSED, unchanged. TSMC Q3 revenue rose 50.9% YoY, HPC rose 22% QoQ and free cash flow improved, while 2nm ramp diluted gross margin by 1.3pp QoQ. Selective data-center financing has not yet translated into broad hardware-order cuts.

Research summary; this is not the complete original report.

This is a concise English summary, not a full translation; the complete six-section report is in Chinese.

State: STRESSED, unchanged. On Oct 15 TSMC reported Q3 revenue +50.9% YoY, HPC +22% QoQ and NT$476.56bn of free cash flow. Gross margin declined by 1.3 percentage points QoQ due mainly to the early 2nm ramp. Financing for speculative AI data centers remains more selective, but supplier orders have not shown synchronized deterioration.

The key positive model residual is financing stress without equivalent erosion of advanced manufacturing revenue or cash conversion. Stops: financing failures causing actual deployment and PO cuts, or simultaneous deterioration in optical/ASIC content, supplier margins and OCF.
